Kobe Bryant: Basketball legend dies in helicopter crash

It's hard to believe NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, whose prodigious talent and win-at-all-costs spirit made him one of the most famous and decorated athletes in history, is gone. Basketball legend Kobe Bryant, 41, and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore Bryant were among nine people killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, on Sunday.

He left a massive legacy behind. Bryant, a five-time NBA champion and one of the league's top scorers of all time, entered the NBA straight out of high school at just 17 years old. He spent the next 20 years of his life making history with the Los Angeles Lakers before retiring in 2016.
